What is the ruling on working for a company that provides SMS services for mobile phones, including various content such as horoscopes, jokes, Prophetic hadiths, and supplications, for a fee deducted from the subscriber's balance, knowing that the company aims for profit, that the worker may be forced to participate in all aspects of the service, and that his primary work also includes matters that are not pleasing to the Sharia?

This work is not permissible for the following reasons:

1. Dealing with astrology is forbidden by Islamic law because it is an attempt to peer into the unseen, as Allah Almighty says: ﴿Say: None in the heavens and the earth knows the unseen except Allah﴾ [An-Naml: 65], and the Hadith: "Whoever acquires a branch of astrology has acquired a branch of sorcery."

2. Promoting songs is an evil and an invitation to it.

3. Contracting for a trivial service that offers no legitimate benefit to the customer is not Islamically valid.

We advise avoiding these actions and seeking permissible work. If you are compelled to do some of them, it is permissible only to the extent of necessity, and the limit of necessity is what leads to destruction or unbearable hardship.
