What is knowledge that does not benefit and what are examples of it, and is a girl's pursuit of a master's or doctoral degree in non-religious subjects such as chemistry and mathematics considered knowledge that does not benefit, and does that make this world her greatest concern?
Knowledge that is not beneficial is that which is not accompanied by action, or that which is not sanctioned by the Sharia for learning, or that which does not refine morals, or that whose harm is greater than its benefit, such as magic, or that which is a waste of time, such as astrology, or that which minds cannot grasp, or that which one is not harmed by being ignorant of. The pursuit of cosmic and civic sciences, if not accompanied by a pure intention and a righteous purpose, will not benefit its possessor in the Hereafter. To have the worldly life as one's greatest concern means that it becomes a person's main preoccupation, causing their religious obligations to be neglected.
