Is it permissible to give gold zakat to a university student brother whom the father supports and who is not employed?

Do not pay Zakat to those who are not among its legal recipients. It is not permissible to pay Zakat to your brother if his living expenses are covered by someone obligated to support him, because he is neither poor nor needy. If you pay it to him in this situation, the obligatory Zakat will not be discharged from you. However, it is permissible to pay it to him if he is among the Gharimin (those in debt). If your brother is not supported by his father, you may pay your Zakat to him under three conditions.
