What is the legal wisdom behind the prohibition of gambling?

Gambling is Islamically forbidden and considered an act of Satan. It has several implications, including:

1. It habituates individuals to rely on luck rather than hard work and diligence. 2. It leads to the ruin of homes, impoverishment of families, and loss of wealth. 3. It instills enmity and hatred among players by consuming people's money unjustly. 4. It diverts from the remembrance of Allah and from prayer, and encourages bad morals and habits. 5. It wastes time and effort, habituates to idleness and laziness, and hinders the nation from work and production. 6. It drives its perpetrator to crime to obtain money by any means. 7. It causes anxiety, illness, and nerve damage, and leads to hatred, crime, or suicide. 8. It pushes the gambler to the worst of morals, such as drinking alcohol and taking drugs. It is practiced in an atmosphere full of deceit and fraud, leading everyone to lose their money, health, and dignity.

Gambling destroys everything; it encompasses alcohol, smoking, bad company, darkness, ambiguity, deception, hatred, embezzlement, and all evil qualities.
