Why have adultery, gambling, and eating pork been forbidden in Islam?

These things are forbidden because Allah commanded so in the Holy Qur’an. He forbade adultery, carrion, blood, pork, intoxicants, and gambling. One must avoid what Allah has forbidden out of faith in His law, hope for His reward, and fear of His punishment, coupled with the belief that what Allah has forbidden is harmful and corrupting, whether we comprehend this or not.
