What should a female questioner do about a male colleague who belittles her, embarrasses her, and threatens to have her fired, due to his belief that a woman's place is in the home, knowing that she cannot leave her job?

Belittling a believer and harming them is forbidden by Islamic law. It is a grave sin that Allah and His Messenger have prohibited. Whoever commits it has perpetrated a clear transgression, because a Muslim's honor, property, and blood are sacred. It is evil for a person to belittle their Muslim brother. Therefore, a Muslim must fear Allah and be patient in times of tribulation, for there is a great reward in it.
