What is the virtue of a person being buried in Al-Baqi' cemetery?

No authentic hadith has been reported regarding the virtue of being buried in Al-Baqi‘. However, Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar mentioned a hadith from Umm Qays bint Mihsan: that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, took her hand until they reached Al-Baqi‘, and he said: "O Umm Qays, seventy thousand will be resurrected from this graveyard and enter Paradise without reckoning." If this hadith is authentic, then it is explicit regarding the virtue of being buried in Al-Baqi‘.

Similarly, the virtue of being buried in Al-Baqi‘ can be inferred from what has been authentically reported from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, concerning his encouragement to die in Medina, as it necessitates burial there. Al-Baqi‘ was the graveyard for the people of Medina during his time, peace and blessings be upon him. Among these is his saying, peace and blessings be upon him: "Whoever can manage to die in Medina, let him die there, for I will intercede for whoever dies there."
