How can one get rid of the suffering caused by the presence of jinn and the effect of magic that prevents intercourse and tortures a person?

Firstly: A Muslim should hasten to hold himself accountable when afflicted by a calamity; it may be due to sins. He should quickly offer sincere repentance, for Allah grants a good enjoyment and bestows His bounty upon the repentant one who seeks forgiveness. Allah has promised the pious a way out of difficulties and provision from where they do not expect.

Secondly: Persistence in the remembrance of Allah, supplicating Him, and reciting the prescribed invocations, for they are a protection from Satan. A servant cannot protect himself from Satan except by remembering Allah.

Thirdly: It is not permissible to seek ruqyah from a priest or a disbeliever due to the polytheism (shirk) and innovations (bid'ah) in their beliefs and their ruqyah. It is permissible to seek it from a Muslim who is knowledgeable about it, along with sincerity to Allah and reliance upon Him, and the belief that benefit and harm are in the hands of Allah.
