What is the ruling of the Sharia regarding a wife who disobeys her husband, treats him harshly, and gives him the choice between divorcing her with her receiving all her rights, or enduring her bad manners?

If a wife disobeys her husband's commands, provided these commands do not involve disobedience to Allah, then she is considered a nashizah (rebellious wife) by the consensus of scholars. She is obligated to obey him, for righteous women are devoutly obedient and guard in the husband’s absence what Allah orders them to guard. A nashizah wife has no right to financial support or clothing. If she persists in her rebellion, her husband is not obligated to divorce her and give her the mahr (dower); rather, she is the one who should redeem herself by giving him back her mahr so that he may divorce her. He has the right to refuse to divorce her until she redeems herself from him. If the husband divorces her without her giving him anything, and he is in financial difficulty, then it is not permissible to demand the mahr from him until he becomes solvent.
