What are the considerations that should be taken into account in polygyny if there is no [apparent] reason [for it]?

Allah has permitted a man to marry more than one wife (a second, third, or fourth), provided he deals justly with them, as stated in the Almighty's words: "then marry those that please you of [other] women, two or three or four. But if you fear that you will not be just, then [marry only] one." It is also stipulated that he must be able to fulfill their rights, such as maintenance and other entitlements.
