Is it permissible for a woman to wash her hair with perfumed products during her waiting period ('iddah)?

A woman observing iddah (definition) (waiting period) after her husband's death is not permitted to use any type of perfume, whether it be fragrance, incense, or oil, regardless of whether it is used independently or mixed with other substances like soap. However, if she purifies herself from menstruation, she is allowed to apply perfume to that specific area. This is based on the hadith (definition) of Umm Atiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her): "She should not touch perfume, except when she purifies herself, a small amount of qist or azfar." Furthermore, there is a consensus that a mourning woman is prohibited from using perfume.
