What is the ruling on a nose cosmetic surgery if it is prominent and causes psychological harm and negative comments from others, and is this considered a disfigurement that permits the procedure, given the fear of the curse mentioned in the hadiths?

Standards of beauty vary, and ugliness or disfigurement have two extremes and a middle ground. A prominent nose may or may not reach the degree of disfigurement. What is customary among people determines what is unsightly and what is not. If a prominent nose causes psychological harm, it is Islamically permissible to undergo cosmetic surgery to remove the disfigurement that causes this harm, based on the decision of the Islamic Fiqh Academy.
