What is the interpretation of verse 190 of Surat Al-A'raf, and is the Hadith "He deceived them twice: he deceived them in Paradise and he deceived them on Earth" authentic?

The verse that speaks about Adam and Eve associating partners with Allah in their offspring (But when He gave them a goodly child, they ascribed to Him partners in that which He had given them. Exalted is Allah above all that they associate with Him) refers to polytheism (shirk) committed by the progeny of Adam and Eve, and not by them personally, as some scholars have preferred.

As for the hadith you mentioned in the question, it is weak. It has been reported in some books of Tafsir, but its chains of narration are weak due to the weakness of its narrators or because the hadith is mursal (has a missing link in its chain).
