What is meant by the association of Adam and his wife Hawwa, mentioned in the noble verse 190 of Surat Al-A'raf?

Ibn Kathir, in his Tafsir, refuted the assertion that polytheism (shirk) was attributed to Adam and Eve. He weakened the narrations supporting this, stating that they are from the "Isra'iliyyat" (Israelite traditions). The correct understanding is that what is meant by this are the polytheists among the descendants of Adam and Eve.
