Consecutive circuits during the circumambulation () are a condition for its validity. It is permissible to interrupt them for a valid excuse, such as the commencement of prayer; then one completes the circumambulation from where they stopped. However, if the interruption is prolonged without a valid excuse, the entire circumambulation must be repeated.
