What is the ruling on fasting Ramadan if menstruation ends with the discharge of dark-colored secretions after breaking the fast, and purification from them has not occurred? Is it permissible to fast without praying until purification from these secretions is complete?

If these discharges are yellowish or brownish and are connected to menstruation, they are considered menses, and therefore, neither fasting nor prayer is valid with them, nor is purification valid. If these discharges continue for more than fifteen days from the beginning of menstruation, then it is irregular bleeding (istihada), and the woman must perform ghusl (ritual bath) and prayer and fasting become obligatory upon her. Purity from menses is indicated by the white discharge (al-qassah al-bayda') or the dryness of the place from blood. A menstruating woman must break her fast for the duration of her menses and make up the days she missed from Ramadan, but she does not have to make up the prayers.
