Is it a condition for reaching the zakat threshold to combine the wealth of all family members, or is it calculated for each individual separately?

Zakat is obligatory on every individual member of the family if the wealth they possess reaches the nisab (minimum threshold) and a hawl (full lunar year) has passed on it. This is because every Muslim has an independent financial liability, and it is not permissible to combine the wealth of family members to make zakat obligatory on someone who does not possess the nisab. This is the view of the majority of jurists, as mingling in assets other than livestock, such as gold, silver, trade goods, crops, and fruits, does not affect zakat. Their ruling is the same as that of individuals.
