Is it permissible to remove life support from a brain-dead child whose life depends on it, or is it obligatory to wait until his heart completely stops beating, taking into consideration the high financial cost of keeping him in this state?

If there is no hope for a brain-dead child to return to their normal state, and they are only sustained by machines, then there is no sin in removing these machines, because the child is considered in the ruling of the dead. The Fiqh Council of the Muslim World League has approved the removal and cessation of life support machines when brain death is confirmed by medical examinations.
