Is magic real? Does it have an effect? And what are its types?

Sorcery is a grave crime and a type of disbelief that spreads due to a lack of knowledge and an abundance of ignorance. It is called sorcery because of the hidden means employed by sorcerers to create illusions for people and to delude them into believing in non-existent realities. This may involve incantations and knots into which they blow, or satanic acts that affect the mind of the bewitched, causing illness or separation between spouses. The devils disbelieved by teaching people sorcery. Nevertheless, sorcery harms no one except by Allah's universal, predetermined will. Everything that occurs is by Allah's decree and destiny, and He possesses ultimate wisdom in all that He ordains. Sorcery can also be a visual illusion that makes things appear other than their true nature, as happened with Pharaoh's sorcerers.
