Is sorcery real? Does it afflict men and women equally? And how is it treated?

Magic exists and is real. This is the belief of the Sunnis and the Community (Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah), who cite Allah's saying: "And they followed what the devils recited during the reign of Solomon. It was not Solomon who disbelieved, but the devils disbelieved, teaching people magic..." (until the end of the verse). Magic affects men and women equally, as the Prophet (peace be upon him) was afflicted by magic, as reported in the two Sahih collections.
