Is sorcery truly real, and did it cease to exist after the revelation of Surahs Al-Falaq and An-Nas, and what do we see now if it has indeed ceased to exist?

Magic exists and has a reality and effect by the permission of Allah, and denying its existence is incorrect. This is indicated by:

1. The Holy Quran: The verse: (And from the evil of the blowers in knots) Al-Falaq/4, which indicates the existence of sorceresses and their work. 2. The Prophetic Sunnah: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Avoid the seven destructive sins… and magic," and "He is not of us who… practices magic or has magic practiced for him." 3. Actions of the Companions: Umar ibn al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, ordered the killing of sorcerers. 4. Consensus of Scholars: Scholars have agreed on the existence of magic, the prohibition of learning and teaching it, and that the sorcerer disbelieves thereby.

The two Surahs of refuge (Al-Mu'awwidhatayn) were revealed for protection from magic and other evils. Their revelation does not negate the existence of magic; rather, they are a means of protection from it.
