ما معنى كلمة نفساء؟

The word "Nufasa'" (woman in postpartum bleeding) is used for a woman who has given birth or is menstruating. It is said: a woman is "nufasa'," "nafasā'," or "nafsā'," and it is derived from "nafs" meaning blood. It was mentioned in the Hadith narrated by Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that Asma bint Umays experienced nifas (postpartum bleeding) with Muhammad ibn Abi Bakr. Also, Aisha narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him) asked her: "What is wrong with you? Have you experienced nifas?" She replied: "Yes." He then said: "This is a matter that Allah has decreed upon the daughters of Adam."
