A disobedient wife (nashiz) is she who defies her husband in what is incumbent upon her in terms of obedience. There is no specific divorce for a disobedient wife, but the husband is permitted to prevent her from marrying until she ransoms herself from him with her dower or part of it. If he divorces her without the condition of waiving any part of her dower, then she is entitled to her full dower and all her other rights. The disobedient wife's maintenance falls, but her disobedience does not prevent her from the right to custody of her children, unless there is another impediment to custody.
