When was mut'ah marriage permissible in Islam, when was it forbidden, and why was it forbidden?

Mut'ah marriage was permitted at the beginning of Islam, then it was abrogated. The most probable opinion is that its prohibition was in the year of the Conquest. The reason for its initial permissibility was due to dire need, then it was prohibited when that need ceased and due to the corruptions it entails, such as the mixing of lineages and the neglect of sound marriage.
