What is the ruling regarding the prayer of a wife who gave birth 20 days ago and has not prayed until now, and does this ruling apply to the previous days and up to the fortieth day, until the wound heals?

A woman in post-natal bleeding (nifas), if her bleeding stops even for a moment after childbirth, she should perform ghusl (ritual bath) and pray. If the bleeding continues, she waits for forty days. If the bleeding stops at any point within these forty days, she performs ghusl and prays. Otherwise, she completes the forty days, then performs ghusl and prays, even if the bleeding has not stopped, as any blood after forty days is considered irregular bleeding (istihada) and not nifas.
