Placing basil, trees, and rosewater on graves is not legislated, because it has not been reported in the , and it resembles the forbidden adornment of graves. As for fencing graves to protect them from wild animals or from erosion, there is no harm in it, provided that no tall structure is built upon them, nor are they plastered with gypsum or cement, as both are forbidden by Sharia.
