The basis for dividing nights among wives is the night itself, because night is for dwelling and shelter, and the day follows it. It is permissible for the husband to visit a wife who is not on her turn during the day if there is a need, but without intercourse or prolonged stay, as she is not entitled to the night. It is not permissible to have intercourse with another wife under the pretext that the wife whose turn it is is working.
