Does the heart's desire to let others know about good deeds, despite actually trying to conceal them, invalidate the deed?

If it is merely a thought and has not settled in the heart, then one will not be held accountable for it. However, if it settles in the heart, then its owner commits a sin. This thought is not considered hypocrisy that invalidates the deed, as long as it is not accompanied by the outward display of the deed.
