Is turning over an inverted shoe considered an innovation (bid'ah)?

The belief held by some that turning over sandals (placing the top part downwards) is forbidden or unlawful is a belief not supported by any evidence. We do not know of any scholar who deemed this act disliked or prohibited. If one does so to protect the sandal from damage, then there is no harm in it.
