Is it permissible to mock the people of innovation due to their innovations and superstitions?

Among the means of deterring false beliefs is to alienate people from them and to belittle them. The story of Ibrahim (peace be upon him) with the idols is a foundation for this, as he broke them all except for the largest one. Then he directed his people to it to question it. When they said, "{You know well that these do not speak}" [21:65], Ibrahim rebuked them, saying, "{Do you then worship instead of Allah that which does not benefit you at all nor harm you? Uff to you and to what you worship instead of Allah! Do you not use your reason?}" [21:66-67], clarifying their deviation and their lack of intellect. However, mocking falsehood becomes a legitimate act of worship if it does not lead to a greater harm.
