Is the husband's statement to his wife, "If your sister interferes in our lives, I will divorce you," considered a conditional divorce if he intended to intimidate and not to divorce?

The statement uttered by the husband is not an issuance of divorce, but rather a threat of it, and therefore, no divorce occurs by it. Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah said: "A promise of divorce does not take effect, no matter how many times its words are uttered, nor is it obligatory to fulfill this promise, nor is it recommended." The wife must obey her husband in what is right, and his right takes precedence over the rights of her parents and family. The wife's sister or anyone else should not interfere in her marital life except with advice and reconciliation.
