One must be wary of books that contradict the methodology of the Salaf in creed, actions, and upbringing, such as the books of the Mu'tazila, the Ash'aris, the Sufis, and the Rafidah. A Muslim should adhere to the books of Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah, such as the Two Sahihs, Tafsir Ibn Kathir, the books of Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah and his student Ibn al-Qayyim, and the books of Shaykh Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab.
