The Ahmadiyya is a Sufi sect attributed to Ahmad al-Rifa'i. Sheikh Al-Alusi considers them among the greatest afflictions upon religion and the state, and their innovations include dancing, singing, seeking refuge in other than Allah, worshipping their sheikhs, and handling snakes. Despite this, their sheikh, Ahmad al-Rifa'i, was known for his adherence to the and avoidance of innovation. The followers of this tariqa were notorious for fabricating lies about their sheikh. Sheikh al-Islam addressed their innovations and his debates with them in Volume 11 of "Al-Fatawa."
