Why is it that every time a supplicant prays to his Lord, the opposite occurs, and every time he is diligent in prayer and remembrance, sorrow and losses accumulate upon him, while the days he does not pray are ordinary?

A Muslim should not give in to the whisperings of Satan and should have a good opinion of Allah. Indeed, Allah's response to those who supplicate Him is established, but this response may be immediate, or Allah may save it for the servant in the Hereafter, or avert some evil from him through it.

The conditions for the supplication to be answered are: supplicating with sincerity and devotion to Allah alone, not supplicating for a sin or cutting off ties of kinship, not being impatient, and supplicating with a present heart that is certain of the answer.

Among the etiquettes of supplication are: beginning it with praise, glorification, and prayers upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and ending it with the same, raising the hands, persistent supplication, seeking out times when supplications are answered, and among the most important reasons for supplications to be answered is ensuring that one's food and drink are from lawful sources.
