The answer

A sick person whose fasting would delay their recovery or worsen their illness is permitted to break their fast, as is someone who cannot postpone their medication until night, based on the Almighty’s saying: (So whoever among you is ill or on a journey [during them] - then [he must make up] an equal number of other days). If the illness is expected to be cured, the sick person must make up the days after recovery. If it is not expected to be cured, then they must offer a (expiation) by feeding one poor person for each day.
