The answer

The Shar'i (Islamic legal) evidences have converged on the fact that Adam, peace be upon him, is the origin of the human species. Allah created him from dust, and then created his wife Hawwa (Eve) from him. From both of them, He spread all of humanity. The Qur'anic texts and authentic Prophetic Ahadith confirm that the creation of Adam came first, then Hawwa was created from his rib, and then the rest of humanity descended from them both. This order is affirmed by Allah's saying: (He created you from one soul, then He made from it its spouse) and the saying of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him: (Treat women kindly, for woman was created from a rib). Scholars affirm that the creation of Hawwa from Adam's rib is from the perfection of Allah's power and will, to demonstrate His greatness and to show the origin of human creation.
