It is permissible to mix the sponsorship funds with one's private money if the sponsorship does not cover their needs, or covers them with only a slight surplus. Spending on the children, in this case, should be from all the combined funds, in a reasonable manner. Furthermore, the orphans' maintenance must be paid from their own money if they possess sufficient funds.
