Theft is a crime and a major sin. Its perpetrator is accursed, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "May Allah curse the thief who steals an egg and has his hand cut off, or steals a rope and has his hand cut off." The thief must hasten to sincere repentance to Allah and return the stolen item to its owner.
