Does a weak character in front of a beloved and the accompanying wrong actions hinder the acceptance of supplication (du’a) and the acceptance of repentance, and does Allah forgive and pardon for that?

Repentance (Tawbah (definition)) and seeking forgiveness (Istighfar) are two independent means of obtaining forgiveness. However, sincere repentance (Tawbah Nasuh) rectifies a person's past, present, and future, provided its conditions are met (regret, abandonment of the sin, and firm resolve not to return to it). Seeking forgiveness, on the other hand, aims to rectify the past and is beneficial if accompanied by regret, presence of heart, and sincerity of request. Seeking forgiveness from someone who is heedless of sins is futile because their heart is oblivious. Despair of Allah's mercy is forbidden, as is feeling secure from His cunning. Sins accompanied by fear, regret, seeking forgiveness, and good deeds are closer to pardon. Sins deprive a person of immense good, propagate similar sins, and weaken the will to repent. The purpose of human creation is trial and test to distinguish the doer of good from the doer of evil. This trial is manifested in the love of worldly desires, which divides people into two categories: those who make these desires their ultimate goal, thereby distracting them from their Creator, and those who make them a means to obey their Lord and to provision themselves for the Hereafter.
