What is the ruling on saying: "Are you not ashamed to sleep while your Master is standing, serving you," meaning that Allah protects a person while they are asleep?

Allah, glory be to Him, is the Preserver of His servants and the Bestower of His blessings upon them. However, expressing gratitude to Him must be done with phrases that befit His majesty and greatness, and that do not imply any deficiency or resemblance to created beings. The phrase "قائم على الخدمة" (attending to service/serving) is not appropriate for Allah the Almighty, and it has not been mentioned in the sacred texts or the sayings of the righteous predecessors.

A servant must show proper etiquette with Allah and avoid words that might imply a deficiency, as the Prophets and the righteous did. For example, Ibrahim (peace be upon him) said: "And when I am ill, it is He who cures me," and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "All good is in Your hands, and evil is not attributed to You."
