What are the recommended books for interpreting the Quran, what is the warning for one who memorizes the Quran and then forgets it, and how can one preserve what has been memorized from the Quran?

The sciences of the Quran and its interpretations are diverse, and there is no single interpretation that encompasses all its aspects. It is best for the exegete to first ponder the verse himself, then consult the interpretations of scholars, especially those of the Companions and their Successors, so that he may be strong in exegesis and not dependent on others.

As for memorizing the Quran, the method varies from person to person, and the important thing is for each person to find the method that suits him for memorization. It is recommended to review what was memorized the next morning.

Regarding forgetting the Quran, the severe warning in this regard applies to those who forget the Quran due to turning away from it and neglecting it. However, for one who forgets it due to a natural cause or essential preoccupations, there is no sin upon him. The proof for this is that the Prophet ﷺ himself forgot a verse during prayer.
