The matter of kinship is significant, and many texts have been revealed concerning the virtue of maintaining ties of kinship, encouraging it, and warning against severing it. It is obligatory for every unmarriageable kin (), and severance is forbidden. It is not necessary to have extensive conversations with kin; rather, the ties must be maintained in a way that is customary. A person should exert their effort in maintaining ties with them in whatever way is possible. If one does so, they are not considered a severer of kinship ties. If some relatives obstruct the maintenance of kinship ties, they should not be obeyed in this matter; rather, they must be advised kindly and reminded of the importance and obligation of maintaining these ties. If there is a dispute among relatives, efforts should be made to reconcile them.
