How is the estate of the deceased – a male – amounting to 13 million Syrian Pounds, distributed among his heirs, who are: (a wife), (3 full brothers), (a full sister), and (2 maternal half-sisters)?
If the deceased has only the aforementioned heirs, and after settling their debts and executing their wills, the inheritance is divided as follows:
The wife: One-fourth (21 shares out of 84). The two maternal sisters: One-third, divided equally between them (28 shares out of 84, with 14 shares for each). The full siblings (brothers and sisters): The remainder by ta'sib (agnatic inheritance), with the male receiving the share of two females (35 shares out of 84, with 10 shares for each full brother, and 5 shares for each full sister).
It should be noted that matters of inheritance are serious and complex, and a mere is insufficient. Rather, the matter must be referred to the courts for investigation into the existence of any other heirs, wills, debts, or rights that take precedence over the rights of the heirs.
