If a wife spends from her private money on the household, then if the husband stipulated taking a portion of her salary in exchange for allowing her to work, she is not permitted to reclaim what he took. However, if he did not stipulate this, then her salary is her private right. If the wife spent from her money on the husband by way of donation, she is not permitted to reclaim it. But if she intended to reclaim what she spent from him, she has the right to reclaim it if she swears an oath or brings witnesses to her intention, unless the spending was for the purpose of maintaining kinship (silah) and honoring the husband, in which case she has no right to reclaim it.
