Is it permissible to wipe over the khuffayn (leather socks) for the Maghrib prayer if a person performed ablution at Dhuhr time and put on the khuffayn, then renewed his ablution for Asr by wiping over them, then took them off after Asr and put them on again when going out?

According to the more preponderant opinion, removing the khuff (leather socks) does not invalidate wudu’ (ablution), and whoever removes them may pray with their previous wudu’. A condition for wiping over the khuff or jawrabayn (regular socks) is that they must be worn while in a state of purity (after wudu’). So, if a person performs wudu’, wipes over their socks, then removes them, and then puts them back on before their wudu’ is invalidated, it is permissible for them to wipe over them. Ibn ‘Uthaymeen said: "If a person removes the khuff while still in their initial state of purity before wiping, and then puts them back on, there is no harm in that."
