How can one mend the relationship with Allah and offer sincere repentance for committing sins despite intense love for Allah and consistent observance of acts of worship, while feeling disturbed, conflicted, and hypocritical?

Despair of Allah's mercy is impermissible. Sins accompanied by remorse and seeking forgiveness increase the proximity of pardon and forgiveness. However, one must beware of despairing of Allah's mercy or feeling secure from His cunning. Sins deprive a servant of great good, and some generate others, making it difficult to escape them and weakening the will to repent.

Allah created humans for trial and test, to distinguish the doer of good from the doer of evil, and those who prioritize Allah's pleasure over worldly desires. Desires were made appealing to people as a test; whoever makes them an end will be led to the abode of misery, and whoever makes them a means to obey Allah will attain His pleasure and Gardens.

One should occupy oneself with choosing the right path and opposing desires. What aids one in this is shyness before Allah, being mindful of Him, piety, and fearing Him. By these, one attains Allah's pleasure and His Garden. This is the station of Ihsan: "To worship Allah as if you see Him, and if you do not see Him, then know that He sees you."
