Is it permissible for a wife to stipulate to her husband that his mother be prevented from consuming tobacco (snuff) in their home during her stay, and what is the ruling on this condition from a Sharia perspective, and is refraining from hosting her because of it considered a severance of kinship ties?

Using snuff tobacco is forbidden and worse than smoking, and the sin increases when it harms others. The Prophet (PBUH) forbade harming people. Nevertheless, a son must treat his mother kindly even if she is committing a sin. The husband is advised to try convincing his mother to abandon this bad habit, clarifying its prohibition and harms. If she does not respond, he should ask her to avoid using snuff while she is in the house, out of consideration for the children. If she still does not respond, the couple should limit themselves to visiting her and showing her kindness and benevolence when she is away.
