It is permissible to play electronic games if they are free of Sharia prohibitions, such as not distracting one from the remembrance of Allah and obligatory duties, and if they do not contain gambling, music, or images of naked women, and do not lead to enmity and hatred. As for games that contain music, it is not permissible to upload them to websites, and merely muting the sound is not sufficient to justify uploading them. The presence of cartoon images does not forbid playing them or prevent uploading them to websites.
