A servant is not held accountable for what he does in his sleep, because the pen is lifted from him, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The pen has been lifted from three: from the sleeper until he awakens." It is possible for Satan to tamper with a person while they are asleep through various types of imaginations and practices. If one wakes up, they should immediately cease that forbidden act, and there is no sin upon them. It is recommended to maintain the remembrance of Allah before sleep, as it is a strong fortress against the tampering of Satan.
