Is it permissible for a sister to accept a marriage proposal from a young man who lives in an old-rent apartment, knowing that he promised to leave it after two or three years, and what should she do if he does not fulfill his promise, and is it forbidden for her to reside there?

If the suitor is a man of good character and religious commitment, then it is preferable to accept him. However, his residence in a rented apartment under a perpetual lease system is impermissible. If the girl marries him and he wishes to house her in that apartment without the owner's consent, she is not permitted to reside there, because the husband would then be a usurper of the apartment. She is entitled to maintenance if she refrains from residing therein.
